2002 Honda CR250R overview

The 2002 Honda CR250R is a motocross racer powered by a liquid-cooled, 249cc single-cylinder two-stroke engine with carburetor fuel delivery, case-reed induction and an electronically controlled power valve. All-new for 2002, Honda’s third-generation twin-spar aluminum frame pairs with a redesigned engine, a five-speed transmission and kick starting. Suspension consists of a 47 mm inverted Showa cartridge fork with 12.4 in of travel and a fully adjustable Showa shock with Pro-Link linkage and 12.6 in of rear travel. The bike has a 37.4 in seat height, 13.6 in of ground clearance, a 2 gal fuel tank and a 213 lb dry weight. Honda’s final 250 two-stroke motocrosser, the CR250R remained in production through 2007.

Who it's for

This CR250R is for motocross riders and racers who want a competition-focused two-stroke for closed-course riding. Its 249cc engine, five-speed gearbox and long-travel Showa suspension suit track sessions and racing rather than street commuting. The 37.4 in seat height and kick start are useful considerations when deciding whether its size and starting setup fit your riding needs.
