About the 2010 Honda CRF250RThe machine

The 2010 Honda CRF250R is a motocross racing bike powered by a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 249 cc four-stroke single with SOHC four-valve head and a 5-speed transmission. Magazine dyno testing measured 36.4 hp. Its aluminum perimeter frame carries a 48 mm inverted Showa cartridge fork with adjustable compression and rebound damping, plus a fully adjustable Showa shock with Pro-Link linkage. The Honda Progressive Steering Damper (HPSD) is standard.

A kickstarter, wet multiplate clutch and 21-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels suit its closed-course competition role. With 12.8 in of ground clearance and long-travel suspension, it is configured for motocross tracks rather than street use. Honda built this machine for sanctioned competition and experienced riders.

Who should ride it

This CRF250R is for experienced motocross riders and racers who ride on closed-course tracks, including competitors lining up for sanctioned events and practice sessions. Its competition-focused chassis, adjustable suspension, kick start and 5-speed transmission suit riders who can manage a purpose-built race bike and want to tune suspension behavior for track conditions. It is not intended as a beginner-friendly trail bike or a street motorcycle; choose it for motocross and racing, not commuting or casual public-road riding.
