About the 2022 Honda CRF450RThe machine
The 2022 Honda CRF450R is a competition motocross bike with a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected four-stroke single-cylinder engine, SOHC four-valve head, and five-speed transmission. Its hydraulic wet multi-plate clutch has an adjustable lever, and the aluminum frame is paired with fully adjustable Showa suspension at both ends.
Standard equipment includes selectable engine modes, Honda Selectable Torque Control, HRC launch control, a handlebar map switch, and a skid plate. This competition-use-only model is intended for sanctioned closed-course events and is not compliant with federal motor vehicle safety or US EPA noise and emissions standards.
Who should ride it
This CRF450R suits motocross riders and racers who ride on closed courses and want a competition-focused four-stroke with adjustable suspension and electronic traction and launch aids. It is aimed at track use rather than street travel or general trail riding: the bike is not street legal in the US and is intended for sanctioned events. Its five-speed transmission and motocross setup fit riders practicing on a motocross track or lining up for a race.
